Jump’s Singapore office was formed in 2011 to expand the firm’s reach across the emerging and mature markets of Asia. As part of our elite Singapore team, you will work collaboratively with colleagues of diverse backgrounds, all focused on creating innovative solutions that position the firm for the future.

We are looking for a passionate, experienced Risk Manager who has an analytical approach to their work and can display a breadth of knowledge from within the financial markets that they can use to grow our risk management capabilities in the Asia Pacific region and Market Risk analytics for the global firm.

What You’ll Do:

  • Act as a front-line risk manager, responsible for risk monitoring and managing risk limits
  • Coordinating and driving risk projects in Asia in conjunction with the Business Development team, for new and existing business
  • Troubleshoot and coordinate any risk related issues across departments and regions
  • Acquire deep understanding of market, operational, and trading risk environment
  • Tap into historical data sets and third-party tools to grow firm’s market risk analytics suite globally
  • Leverage internal log captures to improve monitoring of critical operational risk areas
  • Design, document, and drive improvements in risk monitoring applications and alerting framework
  • Engage with trading teams to promote risk best practices
  • Be able to understand complex trades, identify key risks and come up with risk mitigating solutions
  • Ability to work with internal developers to improve risk infrastructure
  • Other duties as assigned or needed

 Skills You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in quantitative discipline required, Master’s Degree preferred
  • At least 3+ years’ work experience in a quant risk role
  • Knowledge of financial markets, product knowledge in futures, equities, bonds and FX
  • Familiarity with financial modeling and risk metrics
  • Familiarity with exchange connectivity/trading systems
  • Strong communicator with traders, technical staff, and external parties
  • Excellent organization and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Ability to make decisions in time sensitive situations
  • Reliable and predictable availability 

 Bonus Points:

  • Experience with Asia markets, preferably in Options or FX
  • Experience with electronic trading risk in a 24 hour “follow the sun” environment
  • Knowledge of Python is a big plus, SQL/Splunk also good to have
  • Familiarity with third party market risk packages like Barra, Axioma, or RiskMetrics
