At Optiver, we hire academically accomplished, intellectually well-rounded thinkers and we mold them into great traders. Your career here will begin with six months of comprehensive training on the fundamentals of trading: theory, markets, strategies and cutting-edge technology.
From there, you’re off and trading. You and your team will adjust prices, monitor positions and make trades using custom software. In partnership with our engineers, you will continually refine and optimize your trading strategies. After all, the only constant in the market is change. What worked today may not work tomorrow. And you definitely won’t have to wait until tomorrow to see the impact of your decisions. It requires nimble, decisive thinking and bold action.
Trading at Optiver:
Optiver makes markets. Our traders make it possible. Relying on a deep knowledge of math, stats, econ and engineering, you will design, execute and improve trading strategies. In the process, you will improve the very functioning of our financial markets by providing fair and accurate pricing. And you’ll do it in all market circumstances, no matter how volatile, thereby managing risk for anxious market participants. So the fruits of your labor will be apparent every minute the markets are open.
What you’ll need:
Who we are:
Optiver is a leading global electronic market maker specializing in pricing, execution and risk management. Working together, our traders and software engineers design proprietary systems and execute strategies to provide liquidity and increase market efficiencies.
Put simply, we improve the markets. That’s not merely an aspiration, but our reason for being. It requires intelligence, obviously. But in this industry, that’s table stakes. We’re seeking traders, software engineers and interns who up the ante with nerve, with guts and, most importantly, with heart. We’re looking for the bold. Does that describe you? Then opt in.
*We accept one application per role per year. If you have previously applied to the Quantitative Trader position during this season and have been unsuccessful, you can reapply once the next recruitment season begins in 2021.
