Associate, Business Management

Job Description

Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks an Associate to join our Business Management team.

The role will provide the right candidate with an opportunity to gain experience in a fast paced, innovative and growing industry, to collaborate with the firm’s senior management, and to develop his or her own skills.


  • Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, including the firm’s senior management, to assist with a variety of tasks essential to the day-to-day operation of the trading business
  • Learning about Tower’s external relationships with markets and brokers, including but not limited to participating in new exchange memberships, opening trading and clearing accounts, coordinating technical changes, and developing and helping to track project plans as required
  • Managing and maintaining relationships with brokers, exchanges and other market participants
  • Assisting with project initiation, planning, prioritization and documentation
  • Processing exchange paperwork (registered traders, trading sessions, exams, etc)
  • Working with internal teams to administer, refine and improve internal business processes
  • Researching and analyzing new markets and financial products to help drive Tower’s expansion in the region
  • Identifying any gaps or inefficiencies in and helping to improve our current day-to-day business workflows


  • A recent graduate in a technical or financial discipline from a top school, or have 1-2 years of professional experience and a track record of success in a related field (e.g bank, trading venue, or proprietary trading firm)
  • Drive, passion and energy
  • A proactive and team player attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Great organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • The ability to work and prioritize independently coupled with the judgment to involve management with issues as needed
  • A preference for finding the best solutions (not necessarily the easiest) to problems of all sizes
  • Exceptional analytical abilities and experience presenting data to assist in strategic decision-making

Some nice to haves would be:

  • A second language that would be useful for business purposes (e.g. when dealing with counterparties in various Asian markets such as Mandarin or Korean)
  • Some knowledge or experience of the various equities and futures markets in the region
  • An interest and background understanding of capital markets and trading
